This is the first piece that Yanagi ever composed. First time Yanagi played this piece is when he was attending School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He played a keyboard at his dormitory where in front of Chicago theater. He looked out through the window while he is playing. His play was an improvisation about 20 minutes long. This track is an arranged version of the original version.
Yanagi arranged by using GarageBand. He tried to mix drums, guitar, and other rock band sounds to classical sounds like violins and harp with piano sounds. He expressed nocturnal sounds in two different places; city and rural.

Nocturneは柳飛翠が初めて作曲した曲です。柳が初めてNocturneを弾いたのは、彼がシカゴ芸術大学に在籍していた頃、シカゴ劇場の向かい側にある寮で、窓の外を眺めながら即興で演奏した時です。今回のアルバムに収録されているバージョンは、初めて弾いた約20分くらいの即興曲をアレンジしたバージョンとなっています。
柳はピアノサウンドにドラムやギターのようなロックサウンドとバイオリンやハープのようなクラシカルサウンドを調和させました。そうすることで、彼は都会と田舎の両方を同時に思い浮かべるような夜想曲を表現しました。
現在公開されているMVは函館駅から函館空港までの道をバスの中で撮影したものです。
