10. The Last Day of a Winter

'The Last Day of a Winter' was inspired by a photo of a girl. In the photograph, the girl who wears high school uniform is looking at snow and laughing. With the reason, this song is dedicated to the girl. Also, the release date of this album is related to the girl. 'The Last Day of a Winter' has winter sounds but the atmosphere of this track is different to 'The Winter is Coming'. Further, this track shows Yanagi himself at the most. Yanagi told the girl this song is for her and will be released on her birthday. However, he does not know she listened after it released.
The lyrics depicts a person is standing on a white field on a snowy winter day, and missing someone. Yanagi wrote the first line for the lyrics 'Eyes wide open but I can see you' because he wanted to expresses sadness with some madness.
とある人の1枚の写真からできた楽曲。その写真には、制服を着て雪が降っている光景を見ながら笑っている一人の女性が写っている。そして、この楽曲はその人へ献呈する曲でもある。そして、本アルバムのリリース日を1月3日にしたことにも関係している。「The Winter is Coming」とはまた異なる雰囲気を持つサウンドで、冬をテーマにした楽曲となっている。本アルバムで最も柳自身が表現されている曲でもある。そのとある人にこの曲を捧げると直接伝えてはいるが、実際、聞いてくれたかどうかは不明。
歌詞は激しく雪が降っているある冬の日、誰もいない自然の中で、ある人のことを想う内容となっている。柳は歌詞の最初に「Eyes wide open but I can see you」と表現することで、目を開けていても幻覚である人の姿が見えるという、あまりの悲しさで少し狂っている状態を表している。
